Meet your teacher!

Connie is a published Crochet Designer and Fiber Artist as well as a Certified Crochet Instructor through the Craft Yarn Council. She has been designing since 2009 and teaching since 2013, delighting in exploring texture and color inspired by the everyday world around her.

As an Army wife, Connie moves with her family every few years, constantly finding new inspiration wherever she travels and sprinkling her love for the fiber arts behind her as she goes! You can find her online at www.crochetcetera.com as well as on Ravelry.

“I was born and raised in Arkansas, in the countryside outside of a small rural town. I grew up surrounded by nature and often feel most at home when I’m walking alone down a wooded trail even today.

Much of my design inspiration comes from the colors and shapes I see in nature, from flowers and rocks to the flow of water down a stream to shrouded mountains in the distance. Ideas can come, too, from architecture and the texture of walls, fences, sidewalks, and even once, a park bench!

I also find inspiration in the classroom. Many of my designs begin with a simple question from a student, such as, 'Why are my stitches leaning?' and develop from our explorations from there.”
